Jean Bosco Habimana has spent his entire life in coffee. He started as a teenager helping at his family’s farm in Rwanda’s Northern Province, and today manages the Mbilima washing station while tending his own plot, Akanduga-Mbilima, alongside his wife Emerthe. This is his coffee.
The farm sits between 1,800 and 2,200 metres above sea level in Gakenke District, where the altitude, microclimate and volcanic soil create ideal conditions for Red Bourbon. Jean Bosco farms 100% organically, fertilising his trees with manure from his own livestock. No synthetic inputs, no shortcuts.
Processed using the honey method, this lot carries a natural sweetness that defines every sip. Expect a medium body with warm, layered notes of dates, raisins, tamarind and caramel. Complex without being difficult, and deeply satisfying from first sip to last.
